Mission Statement

We offer a broad and exciting curriculum for all of our students, enhanced by the range of additional educational opportunities such as visits abroad through our International School links with Sweden, Romania and Italy, and residential trips offering a range of outdoor activities.

Among the variety of educational visits our students have enjoyed in the UK are Durham Cathedral, The Ideal Home Exhibition in London, Nature’s World and Billingham Forum Theatre.

Similarly we hold whole school events such as Sustainability Week organised through our Technology College team which uses a hands on approach to look at issues affecting the environment and encourages students to think about their own actions.

As holders of the Platinum Healthy Schools Award we recognise the importance of sport. Each term students have the opportunity to choose a sports option for Wednesday afternoons in addition to their P.E lessons. Sporting activities at Abbey Hill include football, basketball, badminton, trampolining, rounders and athletics. We also have the use of an on-site swimming pool and gymnasium in addition to our playing fields.
